Speed Clean is part of one of those products that replace work with photosensitive emulsions and we commonly refer to it as Direct Drawing. The result of working with these materials is almost immediate and does not require insolation. Usually we talk about 3 fluids: a drawing liquid, a blocking liquid and a third liquid for the recovered one.
Speedball brand Speed Clean removes Screen Filler, leaving mesh clean. We will use Speed Clean to eliminate the blocker once the printing is finished and we want to recover the screen to use it again. For a good recovery, it is important to follow the manufacturer's advice but a brush, hot water and patience will be important factors to recover a screen properly.
The name of Direct Drawing dosn't refer to a material of a specific brand, only an indirect coater screenprinting system to do it with standardized materials for this process. The fluids used mark unconventional work guidelines, are applied directly on the screen and are used to create screen printing matrices without the need for machinery or photomechanical processes. All the work prior to printing is done directly on the screen, without photoliths production or indirect films.
